Applying for a language visa
You must apply for a language visa in person at the embassy or consulate where you live. The relevant embassy or consulate will also provide you with the documents they need to process your visa application. The processing time for this is usually up to three months.
Your German course must fulfil these requirements
To obtain a language visa, your German course must comprise at least 18 lessons per week. You will also need confirmation of enrolment from your language school for the duration of your course. The cost for this is 50 euros. As soon as the course and enrolment fees have been received on our account, we will send you the enrolment confirmation by e-mail.
How to get your language visa
You must apply for your language-learning visa at the relevant German embassy or consulate in your home country before entering Germany. This does not apply to citizens of EU and EEA countries, Switzerland, Australia, Israel, Japan, South Korea, Canada, New Zealand and the USA. Residents of these countries can also apply for a residence permit at the Immigration Office once they have arrived in Germany. You will also need confirmation of enrolment for your course.
You must also prove that your stay in Germany is financially secured. If you are not able to finance your trip and stay by your own means, there is still another option. A host living in Germany can undertake to pay for all costs arising from the guest's stay in Germany. The Immigration Office at the host's place of residence is responsible for such a declaration.
Your visa is refused
If your visa application is refused, please return the original refusal letter and our original certificate to us and provide us with your bank details. We will refund 70% of your payment. The application confirmation fee will not be refunded.
