Overview of the telc A2 exam

  • Examination day for telc A2 is usually on Mondays
  • Registration for the telc A2 exam is possible until 1:00 p.m. on the Monday two weeks before the exam
  • Both exam parts (written and oral) on the same day
  • Correction period is approximately four to six weeks

What does level A2 mean in detail?

At level A2, you are able to understand sentences and frequently used expressions relating to yourself or your immediate environment (such as family or work). You can communicate in everyday situations and hold short conversations on familiar topics. At the telc A2 level you can talk in simple sentences about your background and education and describe your immediate environment and needs. Do not worry, at level A2 the exchange of information is more important than grammar. You do not need to use any difficult grammatical structures.

After approximately 240 lessons, you will have reached this level and will be prepared for the telc A2 exam. If you still need training for the exam, we recommend that you attend one of our German courses, which will prepare you for the exam in the best possible way.

What is the structure of the telc A2 exam?

The examination consists of a written and an oral part. The written exam takes a total of 65 minutes and tests your knowledge of reading, listening and writing. The oral test, which has no preparation time, tests your oral skills and takes place on the same day as the written test. The skills tested in the Berlin A2 exam are based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
