Information on course duration
You know you want to learn German, but you wonder what the letters A, B and C mean? It’s simple: They tell you how advanced your knowledge of a foreign language already is.
Generally, A means it’s the beginner level, B means it’s intermediate and C indicates the advanced level – but it’s a fluent passage between the levels. In accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, we at speakeasy group our courses into these different levels.
Please note the different progression in intensive and evening classes - it is due to the number of lessons per week. The intensive course with five lesson days per week has twice as many appointments as the evening course with two lesson days per week.

Why learn German with Die Neue Schule?
In our German courses, you will get to know the German language from the ground up and deepen your knowledge in many application-related lessons. We teach you the most important aspects of the German language from vocabulary and grammar, to communication and regional studies.
In order to support you individually and to guarantee rapid learning success, our courses take place in small groups led by experienced teachers.
The online courses take place as live lessons in virtual classroom and do not differ in content or quality from the face-to-face courses.
Our courses are divided into 12 levels A1 to C1, which are based on the European guidelines for language teaching (GeR). If you are unsure about which level is suitable for you, we offer you our free German placement test, which you can take online at any time. In additiona, we would be happy to advise you personally on the choice of course format and work with you to find the course format that ideally suits your goals and possibilities. Our multilingual team will advise you competently, comprehensively and empathetically, because all colleagues in the school office have lived and studied abroad and know the needs of international students from their own life experiences.

Ich habe einen C1 Intensiv-Sprachkurs Englisch mit Martin und Nuala absolviert und das hat mir richtig Spaß gemacht. Ich habe viel gelernt und ich wurde durch spannende Themen, die wir in der Gruppe diskutiert haben, gefordert. Wir haben viel gesprochen, das finde ich am wichtigsten beim Sprache lernen. Ich kann die Neue Schule sehr empfehlen, weil die Kurse mit vier Leuten, also oft klein sind. In der zweiten Woche waren wir sogar nur zu zweit. Alle Daumen hoch!!!

Ich bin sehr dankbar für die Prüferinnen dort, weil sie mir geholfen haben, meine Aufregung während die Telc B2 Prüfung loszuwerden, und das war sehr hilfreich um meine Prüfung zu bestehen! Außerdem habe ich an keinen Deutsch Kurs dort teilgenommen, deswegen kann ich nichts über das sprechen. Bezüglich des Prüfungstags: Alles war gut organisiert. Es gab nicht zu vielen Prüfungsteilnehmer, und die Prüferinnen waren immer so glücklich und entspannt, dass sie mein Stress abbauen haben.

After trying a couple of German courses, I completed six months at Die Neue Schule without even realizing it. Our teacher Eva was a perfect match for me because she is a very well-prepared teacher who structured the lessons with a variety of activities. She even noted our mistakes and prepared lessons focusing on eliminating these mistakes. She is one of the best teachers I have ever seen. Moreover, the office staff at Die Neue Schule, including the administrative staff, is wonderful and very friendly. They solve any problems on behalf of the students and teachers even before they realize it. For whatever reason you go there, it is guaranteed that you will find a smiling face and a helping kindness. I definitely recommend Die Neue Schule for people who would like to learn German in a systematic way.

You can find our school in the district Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf, which is in the western center of the city. You can easily and quickly reach us by subway. The stations Fehrbelliner Platz (U3 and U7) and Blissestraße (U7) are less than a 5-minute walk away.
